Welcome to the website of the Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. We strongly encourage you to explore the website, read about our accomplishments and projects or get information on one of our popular events. Most of all, we hope you will support us by becoming a member or making a donation to help preserve these historic treasures that are the central focus of our efforts.

In November 2008, the American Lighthouse Foundation (ALF) was awarded ownership of Whaleback Lighthouse under the provisions of the National Lighthouse Preservation Act. Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse manages Whaleback and is raising funds for its restoration. Some of our events and fundraisers are now including Whaleback and soon we'll be adding a Whaleback website to keep everyone up-to-date and connected.

We hope that a separate local chapter of ALF will eventually be formed to help with the preservation of Whaleback Lighthouse. If you'd like to be part of this effort, please let us know.
