There’s no other store like Calef’s Country Store in Barrington — a New Hampshire tradition since 1869!  Joel Sherburne, Calef’s resident cheese expert and all-around wise sage, is a faithful lighthouse preservation supporter. Joel founded New Hampshire Lighthouse Week some years ago, and the third full week in June is recognized and celebrated with special events each year.

Lighthouse-Candy

As part of this year’s NH Lighthouse Week, Calef’s is offering these custom lighthouse chocolates, available in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. They’re $1.99 each, and a portion of the proceeds is going to Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses.

Stop in at Calef’s (606 Franklin Pierce Highway in Barrington, NH), and while you’re picking up some of their famous Snappy Old Cheese or some local jams and jellies, get some lighthouse chocolates — a delicious treat that also benefits the preservation of our maritime heritage. Calef’s website
